The Forestry Society of Kenya (FSK) is a not-for-profit professional association and the premier body representing forestry professionals in Kenya. The Society serves as the collective voice of the forestry profession and is dedicated to promoting excellence in professional forestry practice, sustainable forest management, and the conservation of Kenya's forests and allied resources.

FSK provides leadership and professional guidance to its members, advises the Government of Kenya on forestry matters, and promotes public awareness of the critical role forests play in environmental sustainability, climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and socio-economic development. The Society is committed to ensuring that forestry professionals are competent, ethical, and accountable by promoting high standards of professional practice, enforcing a code of ethics, supporting continuous professional development, and advocating for evidence-based policies that strengthen Kenya's forestry sector.

As a membership-based organization, FSK brings together individual and corporate members from government institutions, academia, research organizations, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, community organizations, and development partners, providing a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, networking, and professional growth.

The Forest Conservation and Management Act, Cap. 385 recognizes the Forestry Society of Kenya as an important stakeholder in the governance and development of Kenya's forestry sector. The Act provides for the Society's representation on the Boards of the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), ensuring that the professional perspectives of forestry practitioners contribute to institutional governance, national forestry policy, research, and sustainable forest management.
