Benjamin Geteria Wamugunda is a holder of bachelor of law degree from University of Nairobi; Master of forestry degree from the Australian National University, and an M sc. Certificate from University of Oxford. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry from the University Of Ibadan, Nigeria.

He has a wide working experience in forestry and environment disciplines Viz the first Chairman Nairobi Forest Conservation Committee of Kenya Forest Service and is Licensed a lead Expert in Environmental Impact Assessment.

He has worked as a Technical Adviser (Environment & Forestry) for Coast Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) Development Project and was Deputy Director of Forestry in-charge of the Technical Services of the Kenya Forestry Service. Before that he was Assistant Director of Forestry in-charge of the Forest Extension Services’ Division and Conservator of Forests in-charge of Forest Industrial Development (FID). This was after extensive forest administration of state forests in the Rift Valley, Central, Western, and Nairobi Provinces.

Wamugunda has written extensively for the Daily Nation and The People Daily on Forestry and Environmental issues.
